After the updated Google Play logo, they wanted a brand refresh that would elevate the platform's content and form a joyful and useful experience for their users, content partners, and team. Together with Google Play and Hello Monday/Dept, we created an extensive and flexible design system with a diverse and dynamic visual language while staying true to the parent brand. A design system that informs, engages, and inspires - no matter the media.
The Google Play logo made the foundation of the flexible 3x3 grid.
All the visual elements and templates create endless design possibilities.
Shapes became the base of the visual style and works as containers and backgrounds. As a part of the delivery, we created an extensive library of templates, shapes, colors, textures, and gradients, along with a detailed and functional guide. The visual language of the system forms a friendly, dynamic, and playful identity.
The identity is built on these round and playful shapes.
The system's flexibility easily works with internal and external assets.
The grid system makes the identity flexible, adapting to any media and scale. The many visual elements ensure it works with external assets as well as the Google brand.
